To My Children

My guiding lights,
My shooting stars,
You are the ones who hold my heart.
Your first cries to be heard,
Your first steps to Daddy,
Your last diaper to be worn,
Your first day of pre-school,
Each & every memory is burned into my heart and soul.
Every milestone you achieve is the happiest and the saddest moments of my life, because I know I will never get them back!
I will never have to carry you every where you go again,
Now you stand on your own two feet and yell Mommy when you cry.
You now go to the potty on your own,
No more diaper aisle for mommy.
Now instead on Nanne's in the morning I take you to pre-school.
You run off to your new friends to have exciting adventures as Spiderman or Cinderella,
To learn your ABC's & 123's.
You are growing so fast it seems I can not keep up.
Yesterday you were so small your little fingers barely wrapping one of mine.
Today you argue with one another,
Jumping on beds & going to school.
Learning new things everyday, and teaching me more than I ever imagined understanding.
Tomorrow I will wake up and you will be grown.
The toys from my living room floor will have disappeared, the sippy cups long gone.
No more Soccer games or Ballet lessons,
No more boo-boo's to kiss or scary nights to rock you through.
Every momment of your lives are my greatest treasures.
